Kerwin Values Survey®
Team-Building Workshop

It’s all about career values!  Satisfaction at work and on a team is largely dependent on the team members having congruence with what they value most at work, and avoiding those values they find most de-motivating at work.  Using the Kerwin Values Survey as a foundation, this workshop examines the role that career values play at work, and looks at both individual team member values and collective team values to determine key motivators and de-motivators for the team

Stressed Out at Work

One of the most valuable applications of the MBTI® instrument is in helping individuals understand their “normal” way of being, and how their natural preferences affect workplace factors such as communication, work motivators, and team interactions.  However, a recent study reports that close to half of U.S. employees experience persistent stress or excessive anxiety in their daily lives – so an important type question arises:  How can the MBTI instrument help workers who aren’t acting “normal” because they’re stressed out at work?

This workshop explores applications of the MBTI instrument to stress in the workplace.  Topics addressed include:

  • What is naturally energizing for each type at work
  • Common stress triggers for each of the eight Jungian functions
  • The mechanics of type reactions under stress
  • Characteristics of each type when “in the grip” of the inferior function
  • Strategies for returning to equilibrium and “regaining your grip”
  • How “grip” experiences can contribute to work performance, self-awareness and personality development

Values Trump Everything!

Because career values have their origin in culture, family, and other powerful factors, they often “trump” all else – including personality, interests, and skills! As a result,  a solid understanding of career values can provide  the necessary framework for the career planning  process.  Designed for professionals working with others on career development, this workshop includes:

  • Reviewing the relevance of career values in career &  professional development
  • Examining the influence of collectivist vs. individualistic values on career management
  • Identifying core career values using  non-assessment activities
  • Using the Kerwin Values Survey® card sort to identify motivating career values
  • Applying career values as a filter for interests, personality, and skills information
  • Assessing the congruence of career values with existing work or potential career options
  • Using career values knowledge to initiate work and career development action plans
