Strategic Planning

“Strategic Planning With the MBTI® Instrument”

All too often, strategic plans are guided by the personality preferences of the group leader or by the modal personality preferences of the team, leaving certain key areas of the strategic plan unaddressed.  This workshop utilizes the concepts of the MBTI® instrument to facilitate the interaction of team members during the strategic planning process, and to ensure that all facets are addressed in the creation of the overall strategic plan.

The full-day workshop includes the following topics:

  • Part I:  Who Are We?
    • An overview of the MBTI® instrument
    • Review of individual results
    • Discussion of team interaction styles, strengths, and challenges based on personality preferences

  • Part II:  Who Do We Want to Become?
    • Review of key considerations in the strategic planning process
    • Small group breakouts to address key considerations
    • Small group presentations
    • Discussion and consolidation
    • Next steps

Prior to the workshop, participants take the MBTI® assessment on-line.  Results are presented at the workshop.  In addition, prior to the workshop, Patrick Kerwin will meet with the team leader (and any others) to discuss key strategic plan concepts and issues.
